Star of the Week

Katie was our 'Star of the Week'! 2A enjoyed learning new things about their friend and classmate.  They also enjoyed hearing more about her love of horse riding and her family.

Mystery Reader

Our 'Mystery Reader' today was...Mr. Mitchell! The kids very much enjoyed listening to Avery's dad read the story, Stormy, by Elizabeth Mills.  Mr. Mitchell did a wonderful job modeling the reading strategy of 'predicting', as he asked students for their participation.  Thank you, Mr. Mitchell, for your special visit to our classroom.

Mystery Reader!

Our second 'Mystery Reader' was...Mr. O'Connor!  It was so exciting to have another Academy teacher and parent in our classroom to model the strategies of an active reader.  Mr. O'Connor read the story, Interrupting Chicken, by David Ezra Stein.  Thank you, Mr. O'Connor, for your special visit to 2A!

Star of the Week

Our 'Star of the Week' was Kerry! She shared wonderful photos and information about some of her favorite things, including her family and her American Girl dolls.  2A really enjoyed getting to know their classmate and friend, Kerry, a little better!

Claudia W.'s Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Claudia!  On Tuesday, 2A celebrated Claudia's birthday.  Claudia's mom came in to read a very fun story and also treated us to some specially decorated cupcakes!  Check out the pictures below...the cupcakes tasted as amazing as they looked.

Mystery Reader

Our first Mystery Reader visited our class this week! It was...Mr. Compton! The class enjoyed listening to him read a story called, The Little Red Pen.  Mr. Compton accompanied the characters in the book with different voices and kept the students very engaged and laughing throughout the entire story.  Thank you, Mr. Compton, for such a special visit to 2A.
