Last week we celebrated Kyle's birthday with a special visit from his mom.  Students enjoyed homemade cupcakes before listening to a story from Mrs. Carlin at the carpet!

Happy Birthday, Morgan!

Last week, we celebrated Morgan's birthday with a special visit from Morgan's parents! Friends enjoyed popsicles before settling down at the carpet for a read-aloud by Mrs. Crain.

Celebration of Accomplishments

Thank you to all who were able to attend our second grade's 'Celebration of Accomplishments'.  2A reached so many of their goals and were proud of numerous special accomplishments.  The opportunity to share their achievements with friends and family made for a memorable and special experience for our second graders.

Star of the Week

Roman was our most recent 'Star of the Week'.  Students enjoyed learning new things about their classmate.  Roman's friends learned that he enjoys swimming, spending time with his family and school.

Star of the Week

Kyle B. was our latest 'Star of the Week'!  His friends very much enjoyed learning more about their good friend and classmate.  Kyle has a love for sports, family and school.  He did a wonderful job reading to his classmates at the carpet!

Caesar's Creek

Last Friday, the second grade took a field trip to Caesar's Creek as part of our dinosaur unit. Students had a wonderful time discovering new knowledge and applying information they had already learned in the classroom. Students were able to go on a hike, walk around the visitor's center museum and of course, dig for fossils! Here are some photos from our experience...

Measurement

In math, students have been working on measurement! We have taken advantage of the beautiful weather to do some measuring outdoors. Here are some photos from our outdoor explorations.

Happpy Birthday, Carolyn!

Last week we celebrated Carolyn's birthday! Students enjoyed a delicious birthday treat...chocolate pudding and gummy worms. Mrs. Vaziri made a special visit to help celebrate and joined Carolyn for a reading at the carpet. 

Star of the Week

Our latest Star of the Week was Kyle C.! Students enjoyed learning about some of his interests, which include playing football, watching hockey and making things with duck tape. We also enjoyed hearing about all of Kyle's exciting travels.
