Mystery Reader

Last week, the Firebolts were excited to meet their latest mystery reader, Ian's grandmother! Students enjoyed listening to the story, I'm a Manatee, at the morning meeting carpet. Our class loves having mystery readers so please contact us if you are interested!

Holiday Traditions

2A has been very lucky to have had some of our classmates' families visit to share their holiday traditions. The Firebolts have learned about the holidays of Diwali and Hanukkah. We encourage all of our families to come into the classroom to discuss and share special traditions their families have throughout the year.

Happy Birthday, Nik!

This week, the Firebolts celebrated Nik's birthday! Students enjoyed a delicious cookie cake and spent some time at the carpet listening to Nik's mom read, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.  Nik, we hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration with your friends.

Native American Day

As a culminating activity for our study of Native Americans and their culture, second graders participated in Native American Day the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  The day consisted of learning activities with our specialists, a hike, diorama making and perhaps the students' favorite, the feast! 2nd Grade Concert & Kids For Kids Project

This week, second graders performed their concert for the entire Lower School! They did a wonderful job up on stage, singing out to the crowd.  Following the performance, all second graders began to wrap the gifts that were donated for the Kids For Kids project. Campfire Stories with Ms. Oeth

The Firebolts and their pre-k buddies had a wonderful time enjoying storytelling in the woods around a campfire with Ms. Oeth.  After her engaging stories, the kids got to make S'mores and drink hot chocolate. What a perfect way to celebrate fall!
