Happy Birthday, Maddox!
Last week, we also celebrated Maddox's birthday! He shared drumsticks with his friends and his mom read a wonderful story, Enemy Pie, at the back carpet. Maddox, we hope you had a wonderful birthday weekend!
Happy Birthday, Jia Jia!
Last week, the Firebolts celebrated Jia Jia's birthday. Jia Jia shared some delicious cinnamon sticks with her friends. Afterward, students enjoyed reading a 'Would You Rather' book and tongue twisters with Jia Jia's parents. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly
Last Friday, the whole school participated in a powerful and celebratory Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly. Students enjoyed a video montage, presentations, a performance from our choir, and a speech from alum Nick Jones '01. The assembly challenged our students to think about how they can live like King. Much of our dialogue in second grade has centered around how MLK Jr. exemplified C.A.R.E.S.
Happy Birthday, Megan!
Last week, we celebrated Megan's half birthday! Her mom made delicious cookies and Megan's little brother, Kevin, was able to join the festivities as well. Students enjoyed a read aloud at the back carpet of Knuffle Bunny, by Mo Willems.
